Our client is a one of the leading social care providers in Merseyside - with operations across Liverpool, Sefton and beyond. They are a not-for-profit organisation offering a range of social care services to people who have Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Issues, Dementia, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Acquired Brain Injuries, Personality Disorders and other Complex needs.
They are seeking an experienced service manager (i.e. someone with demonstrable management experience within the adult social care arena) to take on the critical role of Head of Care / Supported Living Service Manager - assuming responsibility for upwards of 8 different supported living services. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Operations, in this important position you will line manage the Senior Support Workers overseeing each service and have ultimate responsibility for service quality, staffing, budgeting and all other operational matters within your designated services.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contributing to the overall leadership, strategic planning and day-to-day management of operational services
Assisting and deputising for the Director of Operations in relation to the efficient management of operational services, ensuring that they meet legislative and policy requirements.
Providing leadership and motivation, ensuring staff are able to provide flexible, efficient and high quality services.
Working with the SMT to support first line managers and staff in achieving service excellence and Service User Safety
Contributing to effective operational planning, monitoring and reporting
Informing the decision making process of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Trustees.
Together with the Director of Operations and SMT, ensuring systems/processes are in place such that staff receive required levels of training and development and that this is recorded.
Assisting the Director of Operations in managing the use of resources allocated to the charity’s operational units.
Taking part in and assisting with the management of the on-call rota and system including carrying out shifts within the services in emergency situations
ABOUT YOU:
Hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (ideally having achieved Level 4 or equivalent NVQ in Leadership and Management, if not Level 5 Leadership and Management in Care / Registered Manager's Award)
Experience of working as an operational manager within a Social Care Provider Environment, with at least 2 years’ spent in a service management position
Experience of managing support provision for adults with learning disabilities and/or mental ill-health in residential, supported living or outreach environments.
Experience of staff recruitment and development processes.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrable experience of writing day to day and complex reports.
Experience of budget management.
Experience of supporting service users and carers during assessment and transition periods.
Experience of providing training, guidance and support to staff.
